Villa Talea  is a traditionally built country home tucked away on a sheltered, sunny hill side of the north coast of Crete. The house is set on the outskirts of the tranquil, traditional village of Exantis with fruit orchards and olive groves all around and about ½ kilometre (0,3 miles) to the nearest neighbour.

The villa sleeps up to 5 people. Behind the massive stonewalls you will find on the lower floor a large combined dining and living area complete with fireplace and comfortable furnishing.

The living room has TV/DVD and stereo. Also on the lower floor, there is the kitchen and a toilet.

The fully equipped kitchen contains dishwasher and all the other modern appliances expected to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

On the first floor there are two comfortable bedrooms, a bathroom and a large balcony with stunning views.

The private pool has a large terraced area, with outdoor furniture.

Descriptionpage picture2 The area surrounding Villa Talea has many wonderful walking trails and areas of archaeological interest and natural beauty.

And from the house you can enjoy an undisturbed, panoramic view of the Talean Mountains as well as the impressive peaks of the Idis Mountain range with Timios Stavros (Psiloritis) – the highest mountain on Crete.

Although Villa Talea enjoys a secluded rural position it has easy access to the new national road and only 3 km (1,8 miles) to the nearest beach.

The popular fishing villages of Balí and Panormos with beaches, tavernas and shops are only 5 km (3 miles) away. The larger town of Rethymnon is 25 km (15,5 miles) away. Heraklion airport can be reached by car in 45 minutes. Chania airport in 1½ hour.

Villa Talea is a beautiful character residence, close to historical sights of interest such as Knossos Palace and the Arkadi Monastery.

The central location makes it a great base for exploring both the east and west of the island.

In the hinterland, the Mylopótamos and Amari valleys - one of the unspoilt gems of rural Crete - awaits you with its traditional villages and fertile orchards seldom visited by tourists.
